CASTLES IN VALLE D’AOSTA
Valle d’Aosta is famous for being studded with numerous castles. Often built on high ground or on rocky cliff-tops they are extraordinary feats of engineering. In their times they were used for feudal defence, for residential purposes, or were status symbols for the families that owned them.
